Two of my photographs were accepted into two exhibitions:
The first one is of Bombshell Laura and features a art commission that documented her journey to health:
I am so excited to announce my commissioned art piece "Survivor" was accepted in to the online exhibition "Cancer: Never Give Up 2022", organized by Gallerium, powered by Biafarin.
Congratulations Laura! You are so beautiful inside and out. I am so happy you are in the 40 over 40 Bombshell Series and that you are in this exhibition, too. Your story is filled with courage and strength and I am sure others will find inspiration when visiting this online exhibition and seeing your image.
This image is full of symbolism! Check out my process in creating this image below:
My fine art photograph, “Survivor”, is designed to document the journey from breast cancer to healing. I styled this photoshoot to showcase Laura B.'s beauty, strength, and recovery through my lens. I draped pink fabric over her shoulders to symbolize the pink ribbon. She is holding a pink carnation to give out to other breast cancer survivors and those who are in treatment. Her scar is exposed, like battle scars, reminding her of her fight for health. Her expression is peaceful and happy as she enjoys her current good health and the beauty of life. The image is in black and white to symbolize she is every woman that has gone through or is going through breast cancer. The pink throughout the image highlights the the breast cancer theme and being a survivor. This image was created to challenge the audiences’ perceptions of cancer and to emphasize the message: "NEVER GIVE UP".
The second exhibition is on display until March 2023. After the holidays there will be a meet up to see this beautiful image of Bombshell Lona from the 40 over 40 Bombshell Series: First Collection:
I am so excited that Lona's image was accepted into the "Art on BRiC Walls: A Boca Raton Museum of Art Juried Exhibition of Photography" at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus in partnership with the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the CP Group. I am so honored that famous photographer Reginald Cunningham selected my image "Portrait of Lona" from the 40 over 40 Bombshell Series to be included in this exhibition. We had so much fun at her session and she brought to the studio this amazing fabric with sentimental value. We created this intriguing image in an artsy way to create this one of a kind gorgeous image. Reginald told me at the opening reception that is image reminded him of a cover of "Ebony" magazine. I was so pleased to hear that since I love creating magazine style photoshoots! There were so many beautiful art pieces on display. You will not want to miss seeing this exhibition and Lona's image ❤️ Congrats Lona!
